The matter of the abandonment of Scott County Ditches 5, 7, 8, and 12
Notice of Abandonment Hearing
Please Take Notice: The Scott
County Board of Commissioners ("Board"), as the Drainage Authority for Scott County Ditches 5, 7, 8, and 12 will hold a public hearing on the abandonment of Scott County Ditches 5, 7, 8, and 12 ("CD5", "CD7", "CD8", and "CD12") on April 15, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at the Scott County Government Center, 200 4th Ave W, Shakopee, Minnesota.
All owners of property benefited by CD5, CD7, CD8, and CD12 and the public are invited to attend the hearing. At the hearing, the Board will examine the petition for abandonment of CD5, CD7, CD8, and CD12 and accompanying information. The Board will also consider any additional testimony or evidence received at the hearing to determine whether the drainage system proposed to be abandoned serves a substantial useful purpose or is of a substantial public benefit and utility.
All interested parties may appear and be heard regarding the proposed abandonment. The proceedings are held under Minnesota Statutes, section 103E.811. If the Board determines CD5, CD7, CD8, CD12 does not serve any useful purpose to any affected property and is not of public benefit and utility, the Board shall make findings and shall, by order, abandon CD5, CD7, CD8, and CD12.
